COMBATTING THE PSYCHOLOGY OF ZINA

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF ZINA

Interesting, a lot of Muslim men marry women that other non-Muslim men would never marry prior to Islam. Prior to Islam, she would not have been viewed as marriage material and would have gladly given it up without a marriage contract.

I guess the same can be said for women who marry men that only knew fornication for years. They would gladly fornicate with a Muslim woman or non-Muslim woman who is willing. For many Muslims, marriage is optional for sex. Fornication is the other option.

Unfortunately converting to Islam does not erase the psychology of free sex, and fornication without marriage. Perhaps this is the reason why so many Muslims will be in a relationship, sometimes for years, without being married. The psychology of a fornicatious society lingers even after Islam. It is only removed by taqwa. That’s why taqwa, and good character are the best qualities to look for in a spouse. And people who have taqwa will insist on marriage.

Fornication is a bad path. It has always been a bad path. That’s why Allah says, “And do not go near fornication, it is and abomination, and a bad path”. We as Muslims in America, are dealing with the effects of that bad path in so many ways. I admit, I do not have a solution for the Muslim marriage dilemma in Muslim America. Except that we should do our very best to know our religion, hold it high, and obey Allah and His Messenger to the best of our ability in all matters.
