THE DECEPTION OF GENDER POLITICS AND ISLAM

Just because a man criticizes the behavior of women does not make him a misogynist. Women criticize women just as much, if not more than men. What does that make women who criticize the behavior of other women? Anti women? I don’t think so.

In Islam, right and wrong applies to both genders. Muslims have an obligation to enjoin the good and forbid the evil. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was sent to all mankind, not just to men. Women are just as capable of nasty and immoral behavior as men. They are just as capable as men in committing kufr (heresy), shirk (polytheism), and fusuq (corruption) as men. That is our aqeeda.

Moral obligations and sharia law applies to men and women in equal measure according to what Allah revealed regarding each gender. “The believers, both men and women, are guardians of one another. They encourage good and forbid evil, establish prayer and pay alms-tax, and obey Allah and His Messenger. It is they who will be shown Allah’s mercy. Surely Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.” 9:71 Quran.

Muslims are not supposed to believe in single gender accountability, the belief that men are accountable for their actions but not women. Being a woman will not exempt you from the law of the Almighty, or punishment in the grave or the punishment of the Hellfire, no more than being a man will.

It’s not guidance for a woman to support the behavior of a woman simply because she’s a woman. Nor is it guidance for a man to support the behavior of a man simply because he is a man. Such behaviors have nothing to do with Islam.

Allah is our Lord. He is a Just Lord. He is a wise Lord, and He is a Merciful Lord. We worship Aĺlah sub’haanahu wa ta’ala. We do not worship our gender, nor do we worship our whims, our emotions, or ideologies that we make partners with Allah. His word, the Quran is the Book by which we discern truth from falsehood.

When we reach the grave, and we will certainly reach it. We will find that every soul will be held accountable for its actions, and your gender will not save you from Allah. Gender politics and single gender accountability are just another form of modern-day shirk (polytheism).
