A troubling double standard has permeated parts of the modern Black American Muslim dialogue. While a man is rightly condemned for fornicating, the woman involved is frequently absolved of blame, treating the sin as if it were exclusively his responsibility.
This asymmetric view mirrors ideological frameworks that frame the man as the sole perpetrator and the woman as an inherent victim.
However, this mindset fundamentally contradicts the core tenets of Islam. In Islamic theology, moral responsibility is not gender-exclusive; both men and women are fully accountable for their sins before Allah.
The concept of single-gender accountability is modern-day kufr, a distortion that undermines divine law.
To believe or promote the idea that Allah does not hold women accountable in the exact same manner as men is to disbelieve in what Allah revealed to His Prophet صلى صلى الله عليه وسلم. And Allah knows best. Imam Abu Laith Luqman Ahmad
